University of Nebraska–Lincoln

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln was chartered as a land-grant university on February 15, 1869, to create opportunity for the state of Nebraska. A proud member of the Big Ten Conference, the Big Ten Academic Alliance, and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU), Nebraska is classified within the Carnegie “R1: Doctoral Universities – Highest Research Activity” category. Through its three primary missions of teaching, research, and service, the university is the state’s primary intellectual center providing leadership throughout the state through quality education and the generation of new knowledge. In 2006, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln adopted its Core Values. The University community contributed to the development of these core values, which reflect our commitment to the ideals of a leading land-grant, comprehensive research university.
